Important Notice of conference 2009

-The deadline for submitting position papers is on 11/1(Sun).  Please send the position paper to

-All 4 committees in the HKMUN Conference 2009 have been changed to double delegation.

 

-If there are only 1-2 delegates in your team, please fill in the individual application form.

 

-If there is an odd number of delegates in group application, the single delegate will either be paired up with another delegate or remain a single delegate in a double delegation.

 

-The countries listed are subject to change.

 

-The preliminary result of successful applicants would be announced by 22nd November, 2008

2. How can I apply for HKMUNC2009?

Answer:
To join the HKMUNC2009, you can fill in the application form available in our website.

 

3. I want to apply as a delegate of HKMUNC 2009, but I am not so familiar with Model United Nations, can I still join?

Answer:
Joining HKMUNC 2009 will be a good start to your path in MUN. Training workshops and simulation will be provided for successful applicants before the conference.

 

4. Can I join if I am still in secondary school?
Answer:
Of course!
But as the main target group of the conference is university students, we cannot guarantee the success of your application as the quota for secondary students is less than those of university students. Alternatively, you are welcome to join the conference as an observer.

5. Are post-graduates welcome to join HKMUNC 2009?

Answer:
Of course!
The conference is open to university students from all levels and disciplines.

 

6. I am a student from the Mainland currently studying in a university in Hong Kong. Should I apply as a local applicant or an oversea one?

Answer:
It depends on your status in your university. If you are a local student in your university, you can apply as a local applicant. If you are an exchange student to Hong Kong, you can apply as an oversea applicant.

 

7. If I don’t have the visa details at the moment, can I still apply?

Answer:
Application form can be submitted first and details of your visa and passport can be added later with sound reason.

 

8. Are there any interviews for team application?

Although team registration will have a higher chance to be selected, screening procedures will still be carried out.

 

9. Should we register as a team or an individual if we just have 3 to 4 members in a group?

Answer:
You are highly recommended to register as a team in even number except otherwise required.

10. Is there any vacancy for coach and observer?

Answer: There is no official quota for observer, but requests can be sent to info@hkmuncorg.hk for special consideration.

 

Accommodation


11. Where are we going to stay during the conference?

Answer: Accommodation will be provided at the Royal Park Hotel in Shatin. However, local delegates can choose not to opt for this service and arrange your own accommodation instead. In order to facilitate the better cooperation among delegates and to offer a HKMUN experience to its fullest extent, staying in the Royal Park Hotel is compulsory for overseas delegates.

 

Registration Fee


12. How much do I have to pay for the conference?

Answer: Registration Fee for local delegates: HK$ 2,000 (with accommodation) or HK$650 (without accommodation)/delegate
Registration Fee for all the non-local delegates: HK$ 2,080/delegate; US$ 270/delegate. (Bank handling charge and accommodation included)
